The new Lara Croft
The latest incarnation of Lara Croft is a former gymnast who has performed at a national level.
Alison Carroll, 23, from Croydon, follows in the footsteps of models like Nell McAndrew in the promotional role of the action heroine, as well as Angelina Jolie, who played the part in the film version of the Tomb Raider video game.

She is also a coach for younger gymnasts and recently choreographed the routine for the junior team that won the British National Championships.
Miss Carroll, who beat hundreds of others to be Lara Croft, has now left her day job as a receptionist to start on a gruelling training regime.

She will appear at promotions and conferences in character, performing stunts such as back flips, and will play the part in TV commercials.
Miss Carroll will even answer questions on chat shows as Lara, after taking a crash course in archaeology. She said: “I’ve always wanted to be an action hero.”

They first began seeing each other during a visit to the Bahamas in May, right after she broke up with the troubled actor Owen Wilson.
Their romance quickly became serious, with the pair spending Father’s Day in the U.S. together with their children from previous relationships.
Hudson also introduced him to her actress mother Goldie Hawn over lunch at a California restaurant.

But it apparently their high-speed romance proved overwhelming for Armstrong, who has a reputation as a Hollywood playboy.
A source reveals: ‘Lance felt that Kate came on too strong, too fast. She started talking marriage and babies almost right away. He freaked out at her clinginess and bailed.
‘Lance realised he wasn’t so committed to the relationship and shouldn’t pursue it anymore.’
The source adds that the break-up has left Kate weary of embarking on another relationship, adding: ‘She really needs to take time for herself.’.

She lost a stone by avoiding drink and junk food, saying: ‘Now I drink about seven units over the weekend, rather than more than that every night!’.

Dani says: ‘I’m happy, single and enjoying myself. I’m just going out and having fun with the girls.
‘But it would be nice to find myself a decent guy who will treat me properly.’.
