Peter Crouch should have been preparing for a high-profile football tournament – but instead he was relaxing on the beach with girlfriend Abbey Clancy.
Crouch is one of the England footballers left with a lot of time on their hands, following the national team’s failure to qualify for Euro 2008 tournament, which starts this weekend.
But clearly in an attempt to forget what will go down in footballing history as England’s ‘annus horribilus’, he jetted off the Caribbean to enjoy some quality time with girlfriend Abbey.

Abbey and Peter enjoyed a smooch in the sea, and Crouch took it easy by the beach as Abbey massaged him with suntan lotion.
Crouch certainly doesn’t look as if he’s upset at missing one of the biggest dates in the footballing calender, and seemed more than happy to put his feet – and his very long legs – up on the sun lounger situated right on the beach.
The view must have helped – as girlfriend Abbey stood in front of him dressed in a little black bikini.
But the modest model, who has dated the Liverpool and England striker for two years, says his body puts hers to shame.

The 22-year-old told Closer magazine: ‘Going out with a footballer makes it tough to feel confident about yourself sometimes. Peter’s body is perfect – he has an amazing six-pack and there’s no fat on him at all.’
In fact, Clancy can get so down about her figure, she makes sure she gives it a good workout before the pair go on holiday.
The 1.75m (5ft 9in) blonde revealed: ‘Before I go, I’d like to tone up my legs, thighs and bum so they don’t wobble when I’m on the beach.’.

She also revealed she is no size-zero girl and would plump up if she could. ‘I love having a bum and boobs – I’m a 30C or D depending on the time of the month,’ said the model.
‘Skinny girls might look good on catwalks but on the beach you would never notice them if Kelly Brook or Lisa Snowdon were standing next to them. Curvy figures are much sexier.’.
