HYSTERIA MAGAZINE ISSUE #2 A/W 2012 »FETISH« / OUT NOW

Hysteria Magazine releases its second print issue entitled »Fetish,« which is available to order online now. The bi-annual men’s magazine, which is the brain child of stylist Mervyn Boriwondo, launched online in 2009 and now releases issue #2 of the magazine in print format. The second issue offers five different covers, featuring some of the most exciting faces of the moment, which includes muse of the issue Jester White, shot by Pelle Crépin, who steps into the role of contributing photographer. Contributing artist Larissa Haily Aguado illustrates notions of Fetish through manual collage.
Other contributions come from emerging talents which includes stories from photographer Piczo, Liam Warwick who shot Reece Sanders in our Autumn/Winter 12 collections story, styled by Christopher Preston. Also in the issue photographer Simon Harris returns after his turn in our first issue, shooting the beautiful Dioni Tabbers in a dominatrix inspired story.
Also in the issue is an interview with visual artist Slava Mogutin who talks about his controversial beginnings in Russia, his introduction to the New York Art scene in the 90’s and we also get his take on changing attitudes to the ideas of the world of Fetishes.

»Olaf Breuning’s work ranges from photographs to installations to, most recently, film. Glanced at quickly, his art is colorful and quirky, but upon closer examination a devastatingly nuanced cultural commentary is revealed. Humor is often his primary lens to view the world, and this tendency dovetails with the costumes, wigs, and body paint that turn his subjects into works of art themselves. ›Home 3,‹ the most recent film by Breuning, has it all. Brian Kerstetter, the film’s main character, embodies the quintessentially clueless and uninformed spectator in present-day New York City. In the end, the film not only serves as an astute observation of current consumer culture, but also as a document of early twenty-first-century New York. The Avant/Garde Diaries traveled to Olaf Breuning’s getaway house in upstate New York where the artist finds time to breath fresh mountain air and take a load off from the hustle and bustle of the contemporary art world.«

MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA x H&M NEW YORK LAUNCH EVENT

In an abandoned building in downtown New York over a thousand people gathered to celebrate the most interesting and exciting design collaboration so far. From Brussels, the internationally renowned dance company Rosas with Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker in the lead showed the collection with a beautiful dance composition. Artists like Daniel Arsham and Noémi Goudal interpreted the design house ideas. People from all over the world witnessed this fusion between art and fashion. Featured in the video are Mena Suvari, Alan Cumming, Helena Christensen, Margareta van den Bosch, Julianne Moore, Sarah Jessica Parker, Selma Blair and Doutzen Kroes.

»From Doll to Real Life: While David Webb’s last ad campaign featured Terry Richardson as a doll, the new David Webb Fall 2012 ads feature Terry Richardson himself. The campaign was shot by Richardson and styled by Lori Goldstein under the creative direction of Alex Wiederin of Buero NY.
David Webb fine jewelry is handmade in New York City by dozens of skilled craftsmen with couture-like precision. Renowned for their signature crystal and diamond arrangements and their iconic animal motifs in materials like lapis, azurite, rubies, and yellow gold, each statement-making piece takes an average of three months to produce.
